The Rise of the Digital Nomad

Morgan Fisher (2015: Johannesburg, South Africa) will intern as a Global Marketing Manager with Joint Aid Management (JAM), focusing on developing and strengthening the organization’s digital communications. She will create social media and marketing templates for global affiliates, manage international social media platforms, and lead a viral campaign. Morgan will also document JAM’s work in rural villages in Angola, help implement technology in feeding programs in Mozambique, and contribute to PR efforts by writing press releases, newsletters, and blog content.

My name is Morgan Kathleen Fisher. I am traveling on the Lumos Scholarship to Johannesburg, South Africa to work with Joint Aid Management for 6 months.

At the age of 14, I started fundraising for Joint Aid Management through the power of music. I started hosting benefit concerts in my hometown of Detroit under the alias, Bands that JAM for Africa (btj4a.org). I believe music can be used as a mechanism for social change. Just buy a ticket, enjoy the show, and save a life.

My passion for music and social entrepreneurship led me to Belmont University where I studied Global Social Entrepreneurship with a focus on Africa.

I have travelled to South Africa to work with Joint Aid Management on short term projects and on Study Abroad with Belmont University. I always struggle to depart from this wonderful country. I could not be more thrilled to return! I am completely infatuated with the diversity of South Africa and trust that this adventure is going to reveal more unique stories and revelations that I look forward to sharing with you here!
