Karah Waters

Karah Waters (2017: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) will work with Tanzanian doctors and nurses through Work the World in a national hospital, primarily in pediatrics and obstetrics. During her nine-week placement, she will rotate through multiple departments, gaining hands-on clinical experience treating conditions such as malaria, pneumonia, malnutrition, and tuberculosis. In her final week, she will live in a rural village in the foothills of the Udzungwa Mountains, assisting in a local clinic each morning and engaging with the community through cultural activities and daily village life.
