My name is Eric Taft and I am a recent graduate of Belmont University’s Social Entrepreneurship program. I am a proud native of Nashville, TN, but during my college career I lived in a variety of beautiful countries to study economic development abroad. My partner in crime and recent bride, Hilary, is joining me on an adventure that has been a dream of ours for years. We are traveling to the city of Chimaltenango, Guatemala to serve alongside the Cardenas family at their economic development center, Centro Monte Cristo. This family has been serving their community for over 3 decades and is accomplishing amazing things through their work. Hilary and I are honored to be invited to work alongside them. I hope to grow my understanding of development needs in rural Guatemala during this trip and possibly create a plan to replicate this model in other communities.
Thank you to the Lumos Foundation for making this possible.
