Volunteering Abroad: Serving Young and Old Alike While Studying Chinese

I am a Senior at Belmont University in Nashville, TN and plan on graduating by May 2012.  I began my college career as a Classical Piano Performance major but quickly discovered that I had a passion for the Asian culture and history.  By my Sophomore year, I switched my major to Asian Studies with a minor in Chinese.  I am so fortunate to be going back to China for the third time!  So far I have been to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Zhengzhou, Chengdu and Tibet.  This summer I will be staying in Kunming, China where I will volunteer in the local community and study Chinese through the Keats School for 6 weeks (7/3/11-8/13/11).
