A Life Changing Experience

The Lumos Travel Award enables exceptional young adults to embark on a self-designed international working adventure.

Lumos Travelers explore, engage and immerse in an international community to deepen their understanding of an issue, project or idea that impassions them. They have worked in large cities and remote villages in more than 39 countries, developing projects that span the disciplines of social entrepreneurship, legal advocacy, music therapy, multimedia production, nursing, economic development and more.

Picture yourself training micro-entrepreneurs in South Africa, capturing mixed-media content that celebrates the resilience and hope of post-conflict Kosovo, or advocating for migrants and refugees coming into Egypt from Gaza and Sudan. These are just some of the projects undertaken by Lumos Award recipients as they have embedded themselves in communities across the globe.

About Lumos

Lumos Travel Awards are as unique as the individuals who embark on these working adventures.

Lumos Travel offers recent college graduates the opportunity to pursue a global working adventure before starting a career or graduate school. You’ll develop an original project that impassions you and select a country where you’d like to implement it. You’ll choose a sponsoring organization that provides on-ground support for you and your project, immersing yourself for a minimum of four months in the culture and community while also making a positive impact in the chosen country.
